Life Story
Samuel Fitzgerald Johnson, proud veteran, devoted father, and community leader, passed away on January 15, 2026, at the age of 65.
Samuel was born on December 10, 1960, in Port Maria. He served in the Jamaica Defence Force for 25 years, retiring with the rank of Sergeant Major. His service to his country was marked by dedication, courage, and honor.
After his military career, Samuel dedicated himself to mentoring young men in St. Mary, establishing the "Young Leaders of Tomorrow" program which has helped dozens of at-risk youth find purpose and direction.
He is survived by his children: Samuel Jr., Michelle, and Terrence; his sister Margaret; and 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverley, in 2018.
From the Family: Military honors will be rendered at the graveside. Fellow veterans are invited to attend in uniform.
